In light of the current, decades old, allegations that the late Sir Jimmy Savile may have been something of a serial groomer and sexual abuser of under-age girls, it has come to my attention that back in 1985 he wrote the introduction to Irene Keller's need to know book, Benjamin Rabbit and the Stranger Danger : What a child needs to know about strangers.

"Stranger Danger" is true, but only a tiny proportion of child sex abuse - most abuse is by people known to the child, in a position of authority. What better way to gain trust than preach about danger?
